The Supreme Goal From Church
Glorify God. (To make us submissive before Him) Acts 2: 41-47; Ephesians 3:21
Can I stop congregating as long as I read the Bible at home and listen to "Christian" programs on radio or television? What are the reasons and objectives of belonging to a Bible Church? Why should I go to church every Sunday?
THE LOCAL CHURCH
The local church is a group of born-again, baptized and organized to glorify God, edify one another and proclaim the gospel.
The perfect will of God for his Church is:
1. Grow in faith. (Ephesians 4: 13-16)
A. Through the instruction of the Word (2 Timothy 2: 2; 3: 16-17.)
When we come to Christ we do it with a short knowledge of God's attributes, patterns of God's work in the lives of many men in the past.
It does not mean that we have correctly understood our condition and his redemptive work for us, but we need to grow in the knowledge of Christ (Col 1:10)
"The glorification of God is pure or low, depending on where the worshiper has God." AW Tozer.
"The goal of preaching is the glory of God reflected in the joyful submission of His creation." John Piper.
Lk 9:23; 14: 26-27 We come to Christ to make us submissive to Him. Growing in faith is nothing but believe that what Christ did and what he is asking me to do is the best for me and best for me, now, is His glory.
By the instruction of the Word we have learned that:
- Economic prosperity cannot and should not be proof of God's favor. Luke 6:20
- That the purpose of marriage is not mutual satisfaction, but the sanctification of both. Eph 5:21
- That marriage is not to legalize privacy, rather it is a solemn covenant before God. Mt.19: 6
- The spiritual value before God of man and woman is the same, but not the role of each. Eph. 5: 24-25
- That time of parents to instruct their children is short, very short. Prov 22: 6
- God can, has, and continues to heal, but always does it for his own purposes, their own way and at the appointed time. We can not force God to heal.
- Salvation is a gift that undeservedly received, it's not a prize. Ephesians 2: 8-9
- Evidence and fruit of the Holy Spirit in my life are not disordered and invented events, but a life filled with love, joy, peace, patience, self-control ... Gal 5:22
- The spiritual family is greater and immensely valued by Christ than natural family. Luke 8:21.
- Many cultural practices are not profitable because they are contrary to biblical principles. Mar 7: 9-13.
- Born Again is necessary. (The list is endless, as is the one who teaches, God Himself)
B. Through the fellowship (Acts 2:47;. 1 John 1.3)
I can not say that I belong to the national soccer team when, i do not make it to the practice, and note ven to the games. I need to be with them and do what they do together.
As a result I learn and help the rest of the team to learn techniques and memorizing plays to face together the adversary.
The need to be in communion with one another, is a Biblical principle. Live in communion with one another is not an option for the Christian, is a spiritual duty to encourage each other to live in obedience (Romans 12: 6-11; Acts 2:42)
There is no such thing like this: Yes, I am Christian, but the thing is that churches are outdated and rare, I better read and pray at home. Oh! I better watch videos of other famous preachers.
C. Through the fulfillment of His ordinances (Luke 22:19; Acts. 2: 38-42)
The Baptism: by immersion is the public testimony of a believer showing their faith in the Savior. And while he identifies with the body of Christ which is the Church. (Acts 2: 41-42)
The Lord's Supper: The celebration and proclamation of the death and resurrection of Christ until He comes. Where the elements are representative of the flesh and blood of Christ where we have communion (Acts 2:42; Luke 22: 19-20)
The perfect will of God for his Church is:
2. Proclaim the Gospel to the whole world.
(Mat. 28:19; Acts 1:8; 2:47)
The Church besides being the body of Christ, is also a school of evangelism.
In the local church you are equipped to go out and show the world:
A. The condition of man without Christ. Ephesians 2: 1-3
Dead spiritually, morally corrupt, sinful by birth and practice.
B. The consequences of its condition. Ro 3:23; 6:23
Removal, separation, judgment and condemnation,
C. The attributes and character of God. Psalm 99: 9 Deuteronomy 32: 4.
Holy and Righteous. Because God is holy is separated from sin, because He is just and right, He must treat human beings as they deserve.
God is jealous, love, goodness, perfect, Wise, Sovereign, Almighty, Omniscient, Omnipresent, God is true, Invisible, is independent, immutable, He is Holy, Holy, Holy ...
- The ultimate goal of the church is to glorify God.
- The ultimate goal of the Church is to learn and remain to be humble and brokenhearted for His glory.
- You were created by Him and for Him.
- You were created to glorify, first with your life and then with your lips.
What is your goal?
Do your daily activities glorify God or are you only seeking your own glory?
Will you make the glory of Christ the ultimate goal of your life?
What prevents you from following this goal?
